In Vanuatu you drive on the right, speed limits range from 50kmh in urban areas to 80kmh in rural areas. When driving in Vanuatu rural roads are usually made of dirt and in general poor state of repair. Even paved roads can be very narrow in places so you should take particular care if driving at night. The law on overtaking in Vanuatu is you may only overtake if it is safe to do so and should turn on your warning lights to warn others.

Taxi's and tour operators need to buy parking permits yearly to pick up passengers at the Airport terminal. If you do not have a permit but park at the airport to collect a traveler you could be fines VT 1,000.
