Are there any special requirements for driving or hiring a car in Seychelles?

In the Seychelles you drive on the left and roads are generally in good condition. Street lights are quite rare in rural areas and there is a potential of pedestrians and animals in the road so we advise to avoid driving at night if you can. Some roads can be quite narrow and in some places, the edge of the road can just be a drop. Overtaking is very common in the Seychelles, so don’t be alarmed if others pass you while driving.

The only places where you will need to pay for parking is in Victoria. There are different parking areas around the city and you will need to buy parking coupons at the post office. If you are found parking illegally your vehicle could be towed away or a fine up to SCR 1,000 will be issued.

Disabled Parking
There are parking bays reserved for the disabled and vehicles must place their disable badge in the windscreen. If these regulations are broken you could face a fine.
