Are there any special requirements for driving or hiring a car in Montenegro?

The small Balkan state of Montenegro is one of Europe's newest countries with its beautiful coastline, and dyllic old towns you may wish to visit before that changes. In Montenegro you drive on the right and overtake on the left. It is compulsory to wear seat belts in the front and rear seats and carry a warning triangle and a reflective jacket  in case of a breakdown. If you are wanting to take your hire vehicle outside of Montenegro you will need to check this direct with the car rental company.
