Parking Information
Parking is allowed on some sidewalks which is always notified by appropriate road signs. If parking is allowed you need to make sure there is still at least 1.5 metres of free space.
Paid Parking
Drivers are welcome to park their vehicles in numerous parking spaces in all cities in Slovakia. Free car parking can be hard to find. Some parking spaces can only be used if you have a special parking ticket which can be bought in any newspaper or tobacco shop.
Parking Enforcement
If you park your car illegally then you will most likely find wheel blockers on your return which will result in a fine of approx €65. If your vehicle has been towed away, the fine will be a lot bigger approximately €225.
Disabled Parking
Parking which is reserved for disabled parking only will be marked with a wheelchair symbol. Do not park if there is a space marked with someone’s name, licence plate number or marked with a cross.
Some car parks will allow a vehicle displaying the disabled parking card to park free of charge or at a discounted rate – It is best to check the parking notices or ask an attendant.
