Additional drivers are the most popular optional extra when hiring a car and it is simple to add an additional driver to your booking. 
 
As with all optional extras we recommend checking the cost of the additional driver for different car hire companies to ensure the total price is the best value. The cheapest rental company may have an extremely high additional driver fee and the total cost may be higher.

You can also add additional drivers to your booking using the ‘Manage Booking’ facility once the booking is confirmed. Simply use the ‘Add or remove extras’ function and select how many additional drivers you require.

Depending on the car hire company and where you are hiring a car will determine what optional extras are available. For Example, it is unlikely that you will be able to hire a ski rack with a hire car at Heathrow Airport, however most car hire companies will provide them at Geneva Airport.

You can add optional extras at time of booking, or once you have booked. To add to an existing booking use the 'Manage Booking' facility and log into your booking (you will need your e-mail address and booking confirmation number).

General car hire optional extras:

• Additional driver
• Child seats
• GPS

Location specific car hire optional extras:

• Ski rack
• Snow chains
• Winter tyres

All available optional extras will be displayed at the ‘optional extra’ stage of the booking process.

It is important to consider the total rental cost (car + extras) when deciding which car / agent is best for you as the total cost of a more expensive car may be less than the cost of a cheaper car plus the optional extras.

It is also worth looking out for free optional extras included within the car hire price as if you need the optional extra this would likely represent good value.

When you add optional extras to your car hire booking you are only reserving this extra. All optional extras are payable locally upon arrival directly to the car hire company.

Optional extras are charged in local currency and will be identified as additional items on your final car hire invoice from the car hire company.

The prices we display for optional extras are correct at the time of booking, however are subject to change without notice.

If you decide you no longer require the optional extras you can ask the car hire company to remove it from the car (extras like child seats and GPS) and reject payment. Or you can add or remove optional extras from your booking by using the ‘Manage booking’ facility on our website.

Where optional extras such as additional driver, GPS or tank of fuel are included within the car hire cost, there will be no payment due locally.
