Customer questions about Florence Airport car hire

Hello, I want to book 3 Mercedes Viano's at Florence airport for a large group trip, can I book all 3 together and do you offer group discount?

Hello, I can certainly arrange a discount for you if booking 3 vehicles. I have amended the quote to apply the discount for you and will send back to you now. You would need to make 3 separate bookings however as we cannot book multiple cars at the same time. Hope this helps.

Florence Airport Mini Guide

Florence Airport
The airport is 4kms from Florence city centre and is easily accessible from the city and from the region of Tuscany. There is ample short and long stay parking at the airport, short stay immediately in front of the terminal and longer stay beyond it. Prices for long term parking start from €84 per week.

How do I get There?
A growing number of airlines, eighteen in all, operate dozens of international scheduled and domestic routes from the airport. Many international flights arrive from central and Western Europe, many on budget airlines although neither Ryanair nor easyJet use the airport.

Getting From the Airport to Your Next Destination
Trains can be caught from the nearby Santa Maria Novella railway station which is accessed by shuttle bus. There is a bus into the city centre taking 20 minutes to get there. Look out for Sita/Ataf buses at the Fly by Bus stand. The timetable is posted near the bus stop. Taxis are available immediately outside the terminal and a journey will take about 15 minutes to a downtown location.

For those collecting a hire car from the airport, the car hire companies are in a separate building outside and to the left of the terminal and entitled Uffici. As with most airports, queues develop when flights land in close succession and it’s worth considering sending the driver on ahead whilst other group members collect the luggage. The airport has easy access to the Viale Giudoni which leads straight to the city centre. Via the excellent network of fast highways from the airport, Pisa, Siena and Lucca are all under an hour away by car.

Public Information
There’s only a tourist information desk at the airport in the arrivals hall which opens from 8.30 until 6.30.

What is There for me at the Airport?
There is a branch of Banca Toscana in the departure terminal and two bureaux de change in the arrivals terminal together with ATMs dotted around the airport.

For a small airport, shopping there is quite good. There is a selection of shops selling fashion wear and local produce before security and a range of small boutiques selling designer clothing after security along with two duty free outlets selling wines, spirits, tobacco and perfume.
Restaurant and café facilities are available in the public area and in the departure area. The food on offer ranges from sandwiches to pizzas and other light snacks plus hot and cold drinks and alcohol.

A first aid facility is available and can be found in the public area just after arrivals.

The Masaccio Lounge is available for business travellers to use office facilities and to access the internet. Access to the lounge is by boarding pass. Wi-Fi is available on both floors of the airport.

Lost luggage can be collected at the facility opposite the baggage reclaims in arrivals.

Passengers Needing Extra Assistance
Assistance is available for disabled travellers – the assistance point is found outside the terminal building by the entrance to departures. We strongly recommended that you inform your airline before travelling so that necessary steps can be taken to assist you. The airport conforms to EU law on disability provision.

Latest Update from Florence Airport:

25/04/12 - With the continuing demand for seeing 'old Europe' and the penchant that the middle classes have for Tuscany, Florence Airport continues to grow in passenger numbers at an alarming rate. This is beginning to manifest itself in congestion in the small airport and an occasional lack of hire cars for people who haven't pre-booked - all the more reason to pre-book online now.
