Florence is so well known and loved and there is so much to see that you can return and drive around so many times and still not see it all. Tourists flock to this famous city throughout the year to see the city's world class art and brilliant architecture, Florence being the home of Michelangelo.
The heart of the old city is perfect for exploring on foot as it is pedestrianised but hiring a car is essential for travelling further afield to places like Pisa (one hour 30 drive) and Chianti (45-minute drive), all linked by motorways, but be prepared to pay at Toll gates.
