To begin with, walk the entire circuit of the city walls. The ramparts have been converted into a pedestrian walkway and you will get an unusual and unique view of many of Lucca’s sights. Afterwards, wander round the old city enclosed by the walls and see the Roman Amphitheatre which is surrounded by some of the city’s most attractive medieval buildings.
