Guadalajara Mini Guide
What Kind of People Travel to Guadalajara?
A lot of the traffic to the city is family members returning home but increasingly there are tourists from America that have bored of the dust and thin air of Mexico City
and want to try somewhere just as exciting but just a little bit different. The city has plenty of sights to discover including beautiful buildings, attractive parks and squares and places that it’s easy to get to with a hire car such as the famous town of Tequila and the beach resort of Puerto Vallarta.
How Easy is it to get to Guadalajara Airport?
Almost all the flights into Guadalajara Airport are internal ones from Mexico or from the USA
. Travellers from elsewhere have a lot of options to choose from as hubs including Phoenix
and Los Angeles
whilst European and UK
travellers wishing to get to Guadalajara should consider using Atlanta as a hub.
What is the Airport Like?
It’s a big and busy airport which has recently been expanded although passenger numbers have already caught up with the increased capacity. You’ll find it clean and well organised with many facilities including an array of shops and restaurants. You’ll discover international fashion brands amongst local clothing retailers, craft and gift shops as well as a duty free selling, not unexpectedly, a wide range of tequila. There is a hairdresser at the airport for that last minute grooming and if you’re short of cash, there’s a bank, currency exchange and cash machines. Eating out at the airport offers an extensive menu of food from fast to a la carte and from café snacks to pre-packaged sandwiches.
