What Kind of People Fly to Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta is not your common or garden resort and with almost exclusively five star resorts it attracts the wealthier tourists from the US
as well as allowing European tourists to travel there via Amsterdam
. Two kinds of tourists frequent Puerto Vallarta; people who simply want to enjoy the facilities of the fabulous hotels and those who want to thrill-seek; hiking through the jungles, climbing waterfalls or white water rafting on the raging rivers that flow through Jalisco.
How to get to Puerto Vallarta?
From many of America and Canada’s airports, it’s a short, direct flight whilst travellers from the UK
and Europe can fly to Amsterdam first before connecting directly to Puerto Vallarta. An alternative is to fly into one of the US hub airports such as Chicago
or Atlanta and travel on from there.
The airport is around five miles from the centre of Puerto Vallarta and a couple of miles further from the resorts. Most people will have coach transfers included in their tour package but experience shows that by collecting a pre-booked hire car from the airport, you’ll be there a lot quicker.
What is Puerto Vallarta Airport like?
It’s a very busy airport with over 2.5 million passengers using it each year. If you need help around the airport or to find somewhere to stay, try the airport information desk and the tourist bureau which are both very helpful. For a bite to eat, you’ll find several styles of eatery from take away to a sit down Mexican restaurant serving delicious traditional Mexican food. There’s also a good selection of shops and boutiques for last minute gifts or travel essentials. If you need money upon arrival there’s a currency exchange facility and Wi-Fi is available across the airport site.
