Despite its interior land location Madrid is ranked among the world's main consumers of seafood and fish. Oysters are readily available throughout the winter months as are all other sorts of crustaceans.

In Madrid there are more bars per square metre than anywhere else in Europe, so there are always plenty of places to go! In general people tend to go to tascas or tavernas after work and then move onto bars as the night wears on. Discos don't even begin to get started until 1am!

Don't forget the cultural side of the city with the world famous Prado Museum. Madrid apparently has more art masterpieces than any other world city.
