Sharjah International Airport is in the
UAE. It is 15km away and just 15 minutes from
Dubai, although in rush hour the journey can take up to 2 hours!
How do I get There?
At the present time, 26 airlines use the airport mostly flying into destinations in the Middle East. Flights to parts of Africa and India are also available. It is the number one Cargo hub in the region.
How do I get to the City?
You can take an airport bus into the city, these leave from outside the terminal building. Taxis are another option or you can drive – Sharjah city is just minutes away and Dubai takes 15 minutes avoiding rush hour.
What is at the Airport?
You will find a bank on the first floor in the main dome and ATMs are conveniently located around the terminal. There are three money exchange centres if you need to change your currency. To book an excursion or hotel, go to SATA travel agency on the first floor. The executive lounge is available to first and business class ticket holders only, but if you just wish to use the internet, there is a business centre in the terminal for a small fee. If you have booked a Rhino hire car you will find the car hire desks in the arrivals terminal just after customs.
Can I eat There?
A wide variety of cuisine is offered at the food court in departures. Take your pick! You can also eat at food outlets in the arrivals area.
Is There a Chance to Shop?
In departures you can browse the special offers at the Dufry duty free shop. In arrivals there is a convenience store and florist and before check-in, a pharmacy for any little medical emergencies.

There is a children’s play area in departures if you are travelling with young family.
What if I Need Assistance?
Special assistance services are available throughout the airport for the elderly, those with disabilities or passengers with reduced mobility. You will be fast tracked through immigration and customs.
Where can I Stay Nearby?
The Radisson Blu Resort in Sharjah is a luxury 5 star hotel with 306 rooms. It features poolside cabanas and a private beach and lagoon. There are four restaurants to choose from including everything from themed buffet to Chinese cuisine. The hotel also has a spa and fitness centre. Another option is the Sharjah Grand Hotel, a 4 star hotel on the beach, with a spa and swimming pool for your relaxation. There is a gym on-site and tennis and volleyball are available for the energetic. In the evening you can dine at any of the hotel's four restaurants.
Sharjah Airport is a great starting point for your exploration of the Emirate. Collecting a hire car from Sharjah airport is easy and will let you choose between the sights of the Sharjah including the Calligraphy Museum where you’ll get a better understanding of the role calligraphy plays in religion or the Heritage Area where several old houses have been renovated and furnished in their original styles.
