debit card car hire for some time now which has been a significant milestone in the industry which once only allowed customers with a credit card to rent a car. However, we are also asked what other payment methods can be used and whilst we’re working on new user-friendly ways for you to pay for car rental, it’s not available yet.
Can I pay for car rental with PayPal?
The safer way to pay for car rental you might think, however integrating PayPal into our systems isn’t as simple as you might think. As of December 2018, PayPal isn’t a payment method that we can accept at Rhino. The main reason being similar to the original debit card issue, accepting payment in advance isn’t so much the issue, rather the security on arrival when you collect the rental car. Our rental agent partners are not accepting PayPal as a valid form of securing the excess deposit when you collect your rental so we can’t currently accept PayPal to rent a car.
Can I pay for car rental with Bitcoin?
Currently, paying for car hire services with bitcoins is not an option available with Rhinocarhire or most car rental companies. However, with the increasing adoption and integration of cryptocurrencies into various industries, including the travel sector, it's plausible that this payment method may become available in the future. As cryptocurrencies continue to gain traction and become more mainstream, car rental companies may explore the possibility of accepting bitcoins as a form of payment. While it's not yet a reality, advancements in technology and evolving consumer preferences could pave the way for bitcoin payments in the car hire industry down the line.
Can I pay for car rental with cash?
At present, cash payments are generally not accepted for car hire transactions, and in the majority of cases, a credit card, rather than a debit card, is required. For specific payment requirements, customers are advised to refer to the "Important Information" section, particularly under the heading "Deposit and Fees," which provides details on the accepted payment methods for their particular rental with Rhinocarhire.
Security measures for every car rental customer extend beyond simply verifying your driving license, whether it's an old paper license or not, and conducting a car hire license check code. All car rental agencies conduct comprehensive fraud checks, with a credit card being an essential component of these measures.
In summary, while renting a car is becoming increasingly convenient and accessible to a wider range of customers, ensuring security and verifying identity remain paramount. As a result, certain new (and existing) payment methods still have some progress to make before being widely accepted as suitable payment options for car rentals.
