What’s so special about Ashford International Railway Station?
Ashford found itself in the fortunate position of being at the UK end of the Channel Tunnel when it was completed and from a quiet suburban station it soon became a major international terminus. Things have quietened down since the transfer of some services to Ebbsfleet but it’s still the perfect place to begin or end your journey to and from Europe.
What are my Travel Options From Ashford Station?
Heading to Europe you can access Paris with three trips a day. If you’re taking the family to EuroDisney then there’s a daily service there. Finally, there’s a non-stop route to Brussels.
Arriving in the UK, the station connects to other locations in the southeast as well as London. You can also collect a hire car from the station and use the coastal A27 to access Kent and Sussex.
What is the Station Like?
There are not as many facilities as you might hope and despite the station being extended and modernised for international routes, you won’t find much to do. There are a handful of cafes and restaurants, including a McDonalds and the shopping extends to a duty free outlet as well as a branch of WH Smith, Boots, a florist and a currency exchange facilities.
