The hotel is found directly on the boulevard, which is otherwise known as ‘The Strip’.
What’s the Hotel Like?
It’s amazing. For sheer luxury and decadence you won’t beat it. It opened in 1998 and is owned by MGM
and designed with an eye to the resort of Bellagio on Lake Como in Italy
. It has a huge lake covering eight acres between the building and the strip itself in which there’s a fountain system called the Fountains of Bellagio that dances to a variety of popular music. Inside, the hotel lobby has a chandelier made of over two thousand hand-made glass flowers that give the area a surreal lighting. The hotel has achieved eleven AAA Five Diamond Awards, more than any other hotel in the US.
As you’d expect, the rooms are sumptuously furnished and when away from your room you can enjoy first class shopping in the hotel’s shopping gallery. As night falls, delicious haute cuisine is served in the hotel’s dining room and you can follow your meal with the show ‘O’, an aquatic performance by Cirque du Soleil. There are many exhibitions held at the hotel including the current one on photography by Jeff Mitchum. For those that want to cool off, the hotel’s pool area is designed in a typically Mediterranean manner with courtyards, gardens and sculptures reminiscent of renaissance Italy. Also outside the main building you’ll find the stunning botanical gardens with perfect specimens brought in from across the globe to pleasure your senses.
