Arriving at Orlando International you are only six miles away from the city’s central business district, a journey that takes less than 15 minutes to complete. You’ll be one of over 34 million passengers to travel through the airport if current numbers are maintained. If you’ve arrived at the airport by car and are flying on to another destination there’s plenty of parking in a huge variety of forms from oversized to garage parking.

Nearly forty airlines fly here from all over the US, Europe and South America including some budget airlines. Big operators include BA, Virgin and Delta.

What’s the Best Way of Getting to My Final Destination?
There is no train link to the airport but buses provide a satisfactory link to various destinations in the state. Lynx buses operate a variety of routes as follows: Number 11 to Downtown Orlando, Number 42 to International Drive, Number 111 to Disney World and Number 41 to Apopka. Mears Shuttle Bus service also operates a range of destinations. Many of the hotels in the area also have free shuttles to and from the airport as do Walt Disney World and Royal Caribbean Cruises. Check when you book. Taxis are a cheap and convenient means of transport as prices have been lowered to be more competitive with the buses.

Orlando is the largest car rental region in the world so why not get involved too. The companies’ desks are located in Terminal A and B on the Ground Transportation Level (Level 1). There should be no problem getting a car as the pool is so large and there are plenty of staff to help complete the final paperwork.

What Can I Do in the Airport?
If you need information, there are two desks just in front of ticket locations A and B, and C and D.

From here you’ll notice a lot of art displayed around the airport. Orlando is committed to art in public spaces and the airport is one of the prime locations. If any take your fancy, you can even buy them. If you need cash for your purchase you can obtain dollars from the bank by ticket location A on level 3.

There are ATMs all over the airport so you should be in sight of one at all times. If you’ve still got money left, the airport shopping zone has a great variety of shops as well as a duty free outlet. If you’re feeling peckish or thirsty after shopping, rest your feet and revitalise yourself with a meal at one of the airport’s many restaurants, cafes and take away outlets. Need to check Facebook or emails? The airport has free Wi-Fi access across the site so there’ll be no problem keeping in touch.

If you find you are the last person at the carousel with no bags left then let the lost baggage office near the reclaim have the details and they’ll do their best to locate it.

Health Issues
If you need medical help arriving at the airport, contact a member of staff who will direct you to a first aid station. If you need assistance through the airport procedure you should inform the airport of your specific need 48 hours before arrival then make yourself known at the information desk.
