Townsville Airport or Garbutt Airport as it is known locally is in the north of Queensland, Australia. It shares its base with RAAF Townsville and is 5km from the city. See and do in Townsville
Walk up Castle Hill and see the views of the city and Magnetic Island. Take the Heritage Trail walking tour around Mackay to understand more about the city and its history. In the city you will find plenty of opportunity to shop until you drop or taste the best in local produce at one of the cafes. If you have a whole day to spare, why not catch the cat ferry to Magnetic Island and discover the beaches and national park. It’s a great place for adventure sports and horse riding too.
