Canberra Airport Mini Guide
Canberra Airport or Canberra International Airport as it is sometimes known, serves Australia’s capital city and surrounds. The airport is located just 8km from the city centre. It's the only capital city airport in the world that currently has no international flights although plans are being made to change that.
Many international flights to Australia are to Sydney
, so you can get a flight to Canberra from there. All flights to Canberra Airport are domestic, mostly to Eastern Australia.
There is a shuttle bus service operated by Airport Express, it runs hourly to the city and can be booked in advance. Taxis are always at hand outside the airport for a fast transfer. Driving is easy as the city is so close, if you have pre-booked a hire car you will find the car rental desks inside the central terminal.
If you need to change some currency go to Travelex on the 2nd floor of departures. ATMs are situated on the ground floor in the arrivals area should you need some extra cash. There is an information desk in the terminal for any questions you may have about the airport and if you need help planning your stay, visit the Canberra tourist information desk. The Qantas Lounge is available for all passengers travelling business class - there you can catch up on the news or surf the internet whilst you wait for your flight. Relay newsagent is the place to go for books and magazines for your journey.
Food and drink
Visit Tuk Chop to taste the street food of Asia or have a coffee and a cake at Hudsons Coffee. If you are in a hurry, grab and go at Velluto, they have a selection of snacks and drinks on offer. If you are just thirsty, there is a wine bar with views of the aircraft.

The stylish 4 star Diplomat Hotel is 4km from the airport. The hotel has free Wi-Fi and there is an outdoor pool and an a la carte restaurant for your convenience.
