Harrow is a very well-to-do part of Greater London, located in the north west of the capital region. It’s full of tree-lined streets and the homes of the nouveau riche. The centre of the upmarket Harrow-on-the-Hill has changed little over the years and retains a quaint, almost Victorian feel to it. It’s known for its education facilities including a large Westminster University campus and of course, Harrow School.
How Easy is it to get to Harrow?
You’re not far from Heathrow Airport when staying in Harrow and you can often see the planes soar into the sky from the borough. Flights into Heathrow come from all over the world and make Harrow a very easy place to get to. There are good underground connections from the airport into Harrow and you can then hire a car from the borough when you arrive. Alternatively, you can hire a car from Heathrow Airport
with Rhino and make the short journey under your own steam.
What Should I see or do in Harrow?
There’s not a huge amount to do there but you can admire Harrow School from the school gates or wander the movie set streets of Harrow-on-the-Hill. There’s a good opportunity to celebrity watch with many celebrities past and present linked with Harrow. You can use your Harrow hire car to escape the city into the Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire countryside if the city gets too much.
