Las Vegas Luxor Hotel Mini Guide
Where is the Luxor Las Vegas?
You’ll find it at the southern end of The Strip at 3900 Las Vegas Boulevard South near the
Mandalay and
Excalibur Hotels. The hotel is linked to the others by the tram system and to the Mandalay by a sky bridge shopping mall.
How Can I Get to the Luxor?
Most people take a flight to Las Vegas’ international airport, McCurran, and get a transfer into the city. If you haven’t already hired a car from the airport, the hotel does car hire too which is ideal for exploring the rest of Las Vegas, especially in the comfort of air-conditioning.
What is the Hotel Like?
It’s been acknowledged as one of the finest pieces of hotel architecture in the world, comprising a bronze glass clad pyramid reaching nearly 400ft into the air and containing the third largest number of hotel rooms in the world. It’s also home to the world’s largest atrium at over 29 million cubic feet. The hotel was expanded with the addition of two ziggurat style pyramids, although the original Egyptian themes have all but disappeared beyond the huge sphinx statue at the front of the hotel.
What is Dining Like in the Hotel?
There’s a great range including the ubiquitous steak house but also an Asian fusion restaurant and a cosy food court with a range of lighter options.
How Will I be Entertained During my Stay?
The Luxor has four shows including a show with Criss Angel and Cirque du Soleil called ‘Believe’. There’s a topless revue and a musical which currently is ‘Menopause, the Musical’. One of Las Vegas’ top night clubs is found there too, the LAX which has seen the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera chilling out there. There are six other clubs for mere mortals in the resort. During the day you can escape from the heat visiting the exhibition on the human body or look at the Titanic artefacts collected by the hotel over the years.
