How do I get to Georgia?
By far the easiest way to arrive is by flying into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
which is the world’s busiest airport. Several flights operate from Europe including BA’s flight from London Heathrow
and Delta’s flight from Gatwick Airport
. Hartsfield-Jackson is only seven miles south of the city centre and has its own station on the Atlanta Metro. Despite the convenience of this, many travellers, especially those intending to explore more of Georgia, hire a car at the airport. Rhinocarhire is represented there and online booking means you can simply hand over your reservation details and go.
What is There to do in Georgia?
If your favourite soft drink is Coca Cola then a must for you is to visit the factory where the drink has been made for over a hundred years and take a tour of the facility. Unfortunately they’re not going to let on the secret formula though!! Golf fanatics will want to see the home of the US Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta whilst those who are interested in myths and strange tales will head for Stone Mountain, a huge monolith which is the largest exposed cap of granite in the country and home to the biggest sculpture of its kind in the portraits of three Confederate Civil War heroes. Finally, if you yearn for the great outdoors, there are hundreds of miles of trails through woods and over mountains in the state, many of them designated and signposted for convenience.
