Los Angeles or the City of Angels as it is sometimes named is located in the Southern Californian Basin. A huge metropolitan city and an important centre of American culture. Los Angeles is surrounded by mountains, forest valleys and incorporates mile after mile of stunning Pacific coastline within it's boundaries.
Los Angeles comprises of several smaller districts, each of which displays a style and atmosphere all of its own. The key districts within Los Angeles are Greater Wiltshire, Westside, South Central, Hollywood
, Harbour Area, Eastside and Downtown. Many of these districts such as Hollywood are well known around the globe as major tourist attractions in their own right.
Most visitors to Los Angeles will include a visit to Hollywood Boulevard in their schedule, including taking a look at the Walk of Fame. In this area the general public is free to rub shoulders with the rich and famous in America's original superstar playground.
Sport also plays a big part in Los Angeles life, as the city is home to two of the most successful sporting teams in the USA. The LA Dodgers are a championship level baseball team and the LA Lakers are one of the most popular basketball teams in the country.
The main airport in Los Angeles is the Los Angeles International Airport. This is a massive international airport which comprises of nine separate terminals, the airport grounds are so vast that shuttle bus is the only way to actually travel between terminals. Los Angeles International Airport serves both the domestic and long haul traveller and makes the perfect place to arrange to pick up your rental car when visiting this fascinating city.
