The Algarve region is undoubtedly the most popular tourist destination in Portugal and on average seven million tourists visit the area every year. The area is blessed with an agreeable climate, stunning beaches and coastline, beautiful scenery and world class golf courses.

However if you travel just a few miles inland you will discover quite a different Algarve, one that has a slower pace of life, is steeped in history and has its own charming traditions. Hiring a car in the Algarve will allow you to take full advantage of what some of these less visited and more remote parts of this region has to offer.
