Strasbourg Mini Guide
One of the first things you will see as you drive into Strasbourg is the Cathedral Notre Dame de Strasbourg. It is a very impressive, almost intimidating 13th century cathedral set in the style of the Gothic era. It is the city's most famous landmark and you should set aside some time to visit. It is said to be the finest example in the whole of Europe, which is quite something when you think about how many there are.
The city has a range of stunning parks and gardens of which the Parc de l'Ongerie is an amazing example. It has been noted for the fine French garden with displays of beautiful shrubberies. There is also a neo-classical castle within the grounds and a small zoo, an ideal day out for the entire family.
For a proper feel of old Strasbourg you can take a short drive in your Strasbourg hire car to La Petite France. It is a typical French neighbourhood which has cobbled streets and is lined with fine dining restaurants offering French cuisine. There are also a number of shops which are perfect for picking up a bargain to remind you of your time there. It also has a river which runs straight through and has some of the most amazing sights so make sure you take your camera. The nightlifet here is positively buzzing, with so many bars and clubs on offer you really are spoilt for choice. If you like beer then the Academei de la Biere is perfect, with over 70 varieties on offer, you may be there a while! It is open until 4am so make sure you are prepared for a late night. There really is so much to do there and we can help you see it all at your own pace.
