Nantes is a thriving and scenic city that is in the north west of France. Discover this beauty in style by hiring a car and exploring the area fully. The town is famous as the home of Jules Verne the famous French writer. Nantes has several districts that are popular such as the Place du Commerce which is the centre of the city. Not far from this focal point is the Rue Crebillon which is home to some elegant and sophisticated shops.

Drive out to the Talensac in your hire car and visit the bustling market. There is the stunning Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne which is a history museum which is worth a visit and usually has some exhibitions to look at. Visit the Cathedrale Saint Pierre and the two crypts where you will find the treasures of the cathedral. There exists in Nantes one of the very few statues of Louis XVI the king who was beheaded. It is found in Place Marechal - Foch.

There is a shopping mall Le Passage Pommeraye which lies between the Rue Crebillon and La Rue de la Fosse. The area is quite historic and dates back to the 19th Century. Another popular place to visit is the L'ile de Versailles with its Japanese Garden, making it a particularly relaxing place. Le Maille-Breze is an interesting sight as it is a warship that has never seen battle. The ship has been moored in the city for many years. A beautiful place to see is La Place Mellinet which contains eight perfectly symmetrical houses built around an octagon. The houses have been restored to their former glory.
