Warsaw Chopin Airport is Poland’s busiest airport and serves the Warsaw area, mostly. It was previously known as Warsaw-Okecie and renamed after the Polish composer in 2001.
How Would I get There?
There are over 300 scheduled flights daily into the airport. Presently, there are 31 scheduled airlines and 21 charter airlines with flights all over Europe and Russia. There are also limited flights to the
USA and
Canada.
Can I get to the City Easily?
Warsaw is just 10km away from the airport. You can take a taxi or use the local bus services 175 and 188 or the N32 at night. If you have hired a car you can collect the keys from the car rental desks in the public area of the departure hall.
What’s at the Airport for me?
In arrivals you will find the Warsaw Tourist Information Office who will be able to guide you to get the best out of your stay in Poland. There are 4 executive lounges for the holders of first or business class tickets or you can pay a fee to use them. There you can catch up on the news and have some refreshments or work using the business facilities available. There are 5 ATMs and 4 currency exchange counters located around the terminal for your convenience and also there is a Bank Pekao S.A. The airport has a post office and facilities to charge your mobile phone too.
I Missed Lunch…
Have a coffee and a cake at Coffee Heaven or sandwiches and a soft drink at Voyage Café. If you want to eat local food, visit Sami Svoi – a casual restaurant specialising in Polish dishes. For lots of choice go to Varsovia Bistro Café, a self service café where you can have breakfast or international cuisine. If you have a sweet tooth, head for the Wedel Chocolate Lounge and indulge yourself.
I Forgot a few Things
There are over 50 shops at the airport. If you need to buy an unusual gift, take a look in Magiczny Swiat. If you forgot souvenirs and travel accessories, you need to head for the Baltona store. Grab a newspaper at Relay and a snack for your flight at 1 Minute – the best place for food on the go. Aelia Beauty has a wide range of cosmetics from all the high end brands such as Chanel and Christian Dior, so you can buy a gift or treat yourself there.
Is There a Hotel at The Airport?
The Hotel Courtyard by Marriott is right at the airport and 15 minutes from the city centre. They have cosy rooms with high speed internet for a charge. You can have Polish and international cuisine at the Brasserie Restaurant and then work it off at the fitness club. The hotel also has its own shop, The Market for any little extras.
