Niagara Falls is a famous tourist destination in both Ontario and New York
. The falls have 3 sections, the Canadian Horseshoe Falls and Bridal Veil Falls and the American Falls. It is also known as the honeymoon capital of the world.
How can I get There?
The nearest airport is Buffalo Niagara International Airport in New York, just a 30 minute drive away. It is served by most US
airlines, so you can easily get a connecting flight here. If you are travelling from an international destination, you will probably arrive at Toronto-Pearson Airport
which is 1 ½ hours drive away. From Buffalo Airport you can take a shuttle bus service to the Canadian side of the falls. Within Canada you can also get here by Via rail or Coach Canada. Once you are at Niagara Falls, the area can get congested, so use the Falls Shuttle and People Mover to get around.
It’s all About the Falls, Right?
Of course! You can take a guided tour or even a helicopter flight to see Niagara Falls. One of the best viewing points is from Queen Victoria Park, especially when they have the firework displays or when the falls are illuminated at night. A must do is the Maid Of The Mist boat trip to the bottom of the falls, but buy a waterproof disposable camera as you will get wet! You can also take the Journey Behind The Falls, a 45 minute tour of tunnels with portholes for you to view them. Take a trip up the Skylon Tower and view Niagara Falls and the surrounding area, you can eat here too at the revolving restaurant at the top of the tower. It is also possible to see the falls by cable car and by taking the White Water Walk alongside the rapids.
Is There Anything Else to do?
Yes. You can stroll around Niagara Park Botanical Gardens and visit the Butterfly Conservatory. Clifton Street has fun attractions and lots of places to eat or go to Queen Street for art galleries or street theatre and boutiques and cafes. You could also take the family to the Waves Indoor Water Park and swim or play!
Where Should I eat?
Start with the unbeatable 99c breakfast at the Flying Saucer Diner. Have lunch at Maid Of The Mist Restaurant, you can watch the falls through the glass floor while you eat your pizza. Finally, try Buchanan’s Chop House for fine dining and regional cuisine, they specialize in chops and steaks as well as seafood.

Should I Explore the Area?
Absolutely! Niagara on the Lake is a pretty town worth visiting and you can take a wine tour there too and try the special ice wine. The Niagara Falls State Park has an observation deck to view the Bridal Veil Falls or you can explore behind the falls at the Cave of Winds. Hiking tours are also popular in the park.
