Sweden is a kingdom, a Nordic nation to be found upon the Scandinavian Peninsula in the Northern part of Europe. Moving away from the old town, Stockholm begins to take on a more modern face, and towards the suburbs on the outskirts of the city it displays a fully industrial style of architecture. Sweden is most notorious for its Viking history, and there are many Viking related points of interest close by to Stockholm. One of the most popular day trips into the surrounding areas is taking in these historically important Viking sites and the two cities of Uppsala and Sigtuna. The first stop on this tour would be to view the old Viking Bridge named Jarlabankes Bro, replete with runic carvings. Arkils Tingplats the seat of Viking parliament is the next stop on the tour along with the old church at Vallentuna.
