Marble Arch Mini Guide

What’s Around Marble Arch Apart from the Arch?
Marble Arch is a very popular part of London for tourists. Named after the Thomas Nash designed monument, it’s now an area as well as a tube station and monument. There is a lot to do in the area if staying in some of the sumptuous hotels dotted around and it’s also very handy for the sights of central London.

How Should I get to Marble Arch?
If flying in, you can land at Heathrow and take the tube into central London. Take the Piccadilly line and change at Green Park or Holborn. There are easy links via the underground if arriving by train from all over the UK. Driving may not be recommended due to congestion and the congestion charge. It’s maybe best to leave the car on the outskirts of London and use public transport.

So What can I see in the Immediate Area?
There is so much, it just depends on your tastes. Buckingham Palace is within easy walking distance and whilst at most times of the year you can only look at it through the railings, it is open to the public during the summer holiday period. The Mall, which leads to the palace through Hyde Park, is great for a walk, as is the park itself. At Speaker’s Corner you can listen to dozens of people trying to put over their views to the public. Finally, you have the iconic shopping area of Oxford Street with Selfridges and Harvey Nicholls.

What About Evening Entertainment?
You have the whole of London within your grasp using the underground. The top entertainment for visitors is going to a show in the West End. For a bargain night out, visit the returned ticket outlets like TKTS in Leicester Square.

Latest Update from Marble Arch:

Marble Arch is an area of London, close to some of London’s most important sights which are within easy reach with a hire car. The Marble Arch itself was designed along the lines of the Roman Triumphal Arch of Constantine and it’s made from fine Carrara marble.

The arch stands opposite Hyde Park, these days popular for free summertime concerts or for Londoners wishing to take a stroll in semi-rural surroundings. Whilst here you can hire a boat and row around the Serpentine lake or swim from here on Boxing Day with other brave souls.
