Customer questions about Kensington car hire

Sorry, where is the location of your car hire office in Kensington?

Hi, you can view the address of our rental agents on the quote page (displayed below each car) or you can use the mapping function to view all available agents in the area.

I am looking for a vehicle for our group of 4 people, 3 golf bags, about 5 suitcases. We need the vehicle on Aug. 4 at abt 9 am.& return on Aug 16. Air-con & auto transmission

Hi, I've had a look to see what vehicles would be suitable for this in Kensington. I would suggest a People carrier to ensure there is enough space for the luggage and golf clubs, possible a 9 seater such as a Mercedes Vito. Depending on the size of the luggage you might be ok with a VW Sharan or similar? You could also consdier 2 smaller vehicles which is likely to be cheaper, however would of course require 2 drivers / fuel / insurance etc.

I am trying to hire a car from 1 september and I would like to know nearest pick up location near our hotel which is : Crowne Plaza, Kensington

Hi, Avis are the nearest to your hotel, however we also have Sixt not far away in Hammersmith.

Kensington Mini Guide

Tell me About Kensington…
Kensington is an affluent district in central London, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It is well known for its shopping on Kensington High Street and for its museum quarter in South Kensington. It's name is derived from the Anglo Saxon for Kenesigne’s meadows – Kenesignetun and was first written in Latin as Chenesitone in the Domesday Book of 1086.

How do I Travel There?
Routemasters bus service 9, takes you into Kensington High Street or take the tube there, on the Circle or District line. There is a tube station at South Kensington and a bus terminus, connecting the district with the rest of London. By car, the A4 goes to both Heathrow Airport and central London.

What can I see There?
You can visit the state rooms at Kensington Palace and see how the royal family used to live. For a bit of culture, see a concert at the Royal Albert Hall.  If you are interested in the past, head for the National History Museum or the Victoria and Albert Museum. Or for something a little different look out for the Science Museum or the Serpentine Gallery.

What Should I do There?
You can shop till you drop at the upmarket boutiques on Kensington High Street, once voted the second best place to shop in London. The district has many green areas, the most famous being the Royal Park in Kensington Gardens and Holland Park, so enjoy a leisurely walk there. Nearby, you will also find the Albert Memorial and the statue of Peter Pan.

What Else can you Tell me?
Kensington has some of the most expensive streets and garden squares in London, properties there, can exceed £20,000,000.
