Background to Bow
Located in the East End in the Tower Hamlets Borough of London, car hire Bow is a very convenient rental location. It is within easy driving reach of places such as Mile End and Victoria Park, both of which are good places to live and access central London. This is the atmospheric true heart of London as it is thought that to be a true Cockney you have to be born within earshot of the Bow Bells at Bow Church. It was traditionally one of the main London market towns where livestock was brought to be slaughtered and sold. Yet these butchers also wanted other ways to make money and began to develop Bow porcelain which turned out to be as fine as any rival porcelain.
History of Bow
Right up until the end of the eighteenth century the Bow China works prospered but in 1771 one of the founding members died an the factory and means of production were moved up North to Derby
. The area is also interesting historically for being the location of a breakaway movement of the Suffragettes. Sylvia Pankhurst, daughter of Emily Pankhurst, set up the East London federation of Suffragettes in Bow.
