Who Flies into Kiev Zhuliany Airport?
Budget travellers are the main users of Zhuliany airport as it has set itself up to attract these clients with low landing charges and a quick way into the city centre. The majority of flights to Zhuliany are from within the country or from Russia
although that’s expected to change in the future. Currently only Wizzair operate routes from the UK
. The airport is also popular with business travellers who appreciate its position in the heart of the city.
What is the Airport Like?
The new international terminal has just been completed in time for the Euro 2012 competition. As a modern facility it features facilities for the rapid movement of passengers through the terminal. Inside, it is somewhat gloomy, typical of an Eastern European airport, with its use of steel and dark grey stone. Mezzanine levels mean that the ground floor can seem claustrophobic even when the airport isn’t busy. Whilst public transport links are already good with the airport being on a city bus route, construction is underway of a spur to the Kiev urban train system. Taxis are another option and the distances to city centre hotels aren’t long but many choose to hire a car at Kiev Zhuliany Airport for the convenience and the low daily cost of having their own transport.
What are the Facilities Like at the Airport?
The new terminal will have exceptional facilities including many shops, restaurants and bars as well as a bank and currency exchange facilities and ATMs. Currently many of the tenders are awaiting approval for the outlets to open but it’s expected that by the end of the summer a full range will be on offer. Currently the duty free facility is the only outlet that’s fully operational. There’s free Wi-Fi available across the airport as well as plentiful information centres should you need assistance.
Latest Update from Kiev Zhuliany Airport:
