Why do People Travel to College Station?
Most people travelling to and from the city are students at the largest university campus in Texas, the Texas Agriculture and Machinery College. Whilst it’s mainly students and academics that use the flights, there is a growing number of people who travel there to learn about the history of the institution which first accepted students in 1876. An interesting partner to the university campus is the Brazos Valley Museum which fills in the gaps and relates the history of the university to that of the city.
 
What is College Station Airport Like? 
Despite being known as College Station Airport, it’s more commonly labelled Easterwood Airport and is only a couple of miles from College Station. Only two routes operate daily out of the airport; to Houston and Dallas. For many years it grew slowly with the advancing popularity of the university campus drawing students from further afield until a major project to build a new passenger terminal began in 1988. The old terminal was retained for general aviation use and operates side by side with the new McKenzie terminal.

What are the Facilities Like at the Airport?
The airport’s McKenzie terminal is very modern and has some great installation art to occupy you whilst you wait. There’s a single café, serving the expected menu, and a kiosk where you can buy newspapers and confectionery. Reaching your aircraft or the terminal is done by aircraft steps and a short walk as no air bridges are available at College Station Airport.
