Newark Airport is also known as Newark Liberty International Airport and is located 24 kilometres from Manhattan in New York. The airport crosses to state limits of Newark and New Jersey. Newark Airport the tenth busiest in America and in 2008 there were 35 million passenger movements. This makes Newark Airport the second biggest airport in passenger numbers out of the three New York airports.

The airport area covers 2,027 acres and has three runways and one helicopter pad. There are three passenger terminals, terminals A, B and C. Terminals A and B were both completed at the same time and have similar layouts with four levels. The ticket counters are located on the top floor with the exception of British Airways and Air India which are found on the first and second floor respectively. Terminal C was completed more recently and has two ticketing levels which are for international and domestic flights.

Each of the terminals have three concourses. Terminal A is used only for domestic flights as it has no facility for customs or immigration. Terminals B and C both handle international as well as domestic departures and arrivals as they have the full facilities to handle foreign travel.

For people travelling by car to the airport there are two exits on the New jersey Turnpike that connect to Newark Airport. There are parking spaces available near the entrance of all three terminals and can be for short, economy and long term.
