Arizona Mini Guide
What’s the Best way to get to Arizona?
You’ll be pleased to know that BA operates a direct flight to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
from London’s Heathrow Airport.
It’s the only direct flight into Arizona from Europe and makes the trip daily. If you have to make a connecting flight, and it can be cheaper to do so, Southwest operate connecting flights to Phoenix from Boston
. Once in Phoenix, transportation to the centre is simple. Whilst the airport isn’t directly served by the city’s Metro system, a shuttle bus will take you from the arrival hall to the nearest stop. If you don’t want the hassle of connections to get into Phoenix, Rhino have car hire facilities available at the airport so you can just collect your rental car and go.
What Should I do in Arizona?
You can do just about anything in Arizona. Take your hire car and travel to the Grand Canyon. You won’t be able to drive in the canyon itself but there are plenty of viewpoints on the road that skirts the rim from which you’ll be able to take spectacular photographs. The capital, Phoenix, is a vibrant city, only in existence because of the two rivers that water the city. It is renowned for its lively night scene and top restaurants. If you want to cool off, Lake Mead is classed as a national recreation area as part of a national park of the same name. The man made reservoir formed by the damming of the Colorado River is great for a swim as well as sailing and other water sports.
