Argyle Airport Mini Guide
Who Travels to St Vincent and the Grenadines?
At the moment it’s very few people unless you’re happy to take a couple of interconnecting flights to get there for the nascent tourism or if you are interested in the banana trade. The island is hoping that the opening of the new airport will help it attract more tourists from Europe and North America as the size and the facilities of Argyle International Airport will allow long distance international flights.
How Easy is it Going to be to get to Argyle International Airport?
Currently only island hopper flights get to St Vincent and the Grenadines
with the biggest airports serving it being Antigua and Barbados Airports. Travellers from the US, Europe and the UK need to transfer to an island hopper in Antigua
before continuing their journey. Argyll International Airport’s runway is sufficiently long to allow bigger planes from further away. Negotiations are currently underway to introduce direct flights from east coast USA
airports and from the UK
What is Argyle International Airport Like?
The airport will have the latest facilities depending on the cost within the overall budget. There will be one stand for large aircraft, one for medium sized aircraft and six for smaller planes. There will be no jet bridges initially but these are planned for the long term. The single passenger terminal will have a small range of facilities, expandable according to demand, and will include three retail facilities and a restaurant. Wi-Fi will be available at the airport as will car hire desks for the major companies.
