Customer questions about Bucharest Airport car hire

Hi Fiona, we are looking to hire a car from Bucharest Otopeni (OTP) airport but need to travel to Bulgaria, is this OK, looking at a Peugeot 107 or similar?

Hi, most rental agents permit cross border travel within the EU, however there are restrictions and often an extra charge is payable at the rental counter or arrival. You can check this by using the T&C' for the 107 you have chosen and navigate to Extra Services / Cross-border and Boundary Rules.

There’s much to see in Bucharest you needn’t leave the city during your stay but if you’ve hired a car there are some wonderful discoveries to be made outside the city. First you should visit Snagov on hot summer days. The lake is cool and refreshing and makeshift beaches line its shore. In the middle of the lake is an island which is the burial site of the infamous Vlad Dracul the Impaler.

At Busteni, a little distance from the city, take a gondola ride up Omu Mountain for the view and marvel at the element-carved rock formations.
