Pristina Mini Guide
Pristina is the capital of Kosovo and this once war torn city has become more popular to visit. Most of the half million people who live there are Albanians with some people from Roma, Turkey
and Bosnia. Prishtina is well connected and you can fly there from most of the major cities including Rome
Many of the taxis will purposely not try to put the meter on so save yourself the hassle of having to argue. The road from Pristina Airport is good and only takes half an hour to drive from into the city. As this small airport can be negotiated in a matter of minutes you are sure to have a smooth onward journey and our helpful staff will do their best to make sure that that is the case. Serbian is the official language and as many people do not know it you can rent global positioning systems out so that you can map your route.
Although car hire is the best way to get out and about you can comfortably walk around Pristina and see what it has to offer. Within this sprawling city there are many parks. The museum is free and so well worth visiting. For a real window on Albanian culture go to the ethnographic museum in the old town.
