What can you Tell me About Tokyo Haneda Airport?
Tokyo Haneda Airport is one of two huge airports serving the capital of Japan. Whereas Tokyo Narita
is the main international airport, Haneda handles almost all of the internal flights within Japan although there is a daily BA flight from Heathrow
. The airport has two domestic terminals and an international terminal that underwent expansion work in 2014. The airport has regularly been voted ‘Most Punctual Airport’ and is very efficiently run. It looks a little strange from the outside – like a series of stacked hoops but its austere exterior belies the quality of the interior.
What are the Facilities Like at Tokyo Haneda Airport?
There are currently seven information points in Terminal 1 and a further six in Terminal 2 dealing with almost every kind of enquiry from train and bus tickets to directions or emergency assistance. There’s a post office, a bank and a Travelex outlet in Terminal 1 and a bank in Terminal 2. You’ll also find many ATMs between both terminals. You can also visit a dentist, book a delivery service or have your hair cut whilst waiting for your plane.
For more mundane services, dozens of shops await your yen in each terminal. With international names, local gifts, travel necessities and more, you’ll struggle to fit in a meal as well at one of the many restaurants that include traditional Japanese fare such as sushi whilst western tastes are catered for with big name take away outlets such as McDonalds.
