Tokyo Narita Airport Mini Guide

What can you Tell me About Tokyo Narita Airport?
Narita is the second busiest airport in Japan and deals with mainly international flights into the Japanese capital. It’s very busy but not as busy as Haneda Airport - just over 36m passengers used it last year. Whilst you can fly with BA into Haneda Airport from Heathrow, flying into Narita gives you more choice with four routes from the UK including a BA flight and one from Virgin. It’s a forty mile trip into the city from Narita but there’s a variety of ways of making the journey, all quick and convenient.

Tokyo Narita Airport

What’s the Airport Like?
The airport has two terminals both of which have satellites; Terminal 1 is split into north and south wings whilst Terminal 2 is linear in design. Both terminals accept domestic and international flights and you are filtered into the correct channel as you head towards the arrivals hall. Getting into Tokyo is often best achieved by one of the many rail routes from the airport as, depending on your time of arrival, you may find the roads congested.

Will the Airport Have all I Need?
There are plenty of banks and currency exchange facilities at Narita Airport. Terminal 1 has one bank offering full services whilst thirteen other banks and exchange companies offer currency services. A similar picture is seen at Terminal 2 which has an additional bank offering full services. It goes without saying that there are plenty of ATMs should you need one. You are certainly spoilt for choice of eating and drinking with 45 outlets in Terminal 1 and a similar number in the second terminal. Shops are even more numerous with nearly 150 spread between the two terminals. Both the restaurants and the shops have a range to suit local and international customers with many high street and designer names in the shops and with food outlets like McDonalds, Starbucks etc. catering for the masses.

Tokyo Narita Airport is the main international arrival point for visitors to Japan. If you’re intending to make the most of your stay in the city then a hire car is going to be essential. Some worry about the drive from the airport in an unfamiliar country but the road from the airport to the city is easy to navigate, especially if you choose a sat-nav system for your car – one of the many optional extras available when you book online. We include all the essentials in the price for Tokyo Narita car hire – and some that other companies think of as extras you need to pay more for.

We believe that no other company gives you competition beating prices for a Tokyo Narita car hire package that’s second to none. Latest model cars, comprehensive insurance, collision damage waiver cover and 24 hour roadside assistance are all included in the one low price.
