About Cork Airport
Cork Airport or Aerfort Chorcai as it’s called in Irish, is located in the south of the Emerald Isle in the county of Cork. It is a modern airport offering all the facilities and services required by today’s traveller. If this is your first visit to Ireland you will not be disappointed at the warmth and hospitality of the country and the locals will be sure to tell you that this is the ‘real capital’ of Ireland. Two hotels can be found located next to the Airport, one is the Cork International Airport Hotel and the other is the Radisson Blu Hotel making the location even more convenient for those who’d like to recharge their batteries before onward travel. There are plans in place to develop the Airport to triple the capacity of the airport by rearranging the facilities and extending terminals by 2023.

Cork Airport itself offers a wide range of facilities and prides itself on the shopping experience available at ‘The Loop’ which is the name given to airport shopping in Cork. It offers all the expected international brands from perfume to fashion and high quality Irish souvenirs are all sold as part of the Loop range. It offers also a unique selection of local Irish produce that includes locally sourced smoked salmon, farmhouse cheeses and other delicacies from the surrounding area. You will also find a substantial range of Liquor (including the infamous Irish Poteen ) as well as a large range of tobacco products.

There is good news also for the shopaholics amongst us as Cork Airport offers a shop and collect service which allows you to purchase items at the airport and collect them on your return. This is a free service for travellers within the EU.

From the host of flavours available at Cork's Food Market, bringing together the luxury and simplicity of local produce, to the Victorian style of the Red Bar and the atmosphere of the traditional Irish pub there is something available at Cork Airport to suit all tastes. If you fancy a snack or a drink stop at the Sports Bar in the departure lounge and for coffee lovers in need of a pick me up don’t miss the Lir Cafe for a frothy cappuccino and some fine handmade chocolates. Those in need of their daily Starbucks won’t be disappointed either as the international chain has a branch at this location.
