Curacao Hato International Airport Mini Guide
Why Should I fly to Hato International Airport?
Whilst it’s possible to island hop from other Caribbean islands, it’s far easier to get to Curacao direct from one of the North American or European airports. Curacao has plenty to offer the tourist who’s searching for something a little different. You have the beautiful Caribbean beaches, the warm sun and sea and the delicious food but you’ll also have a strong flavour of Holland with pastel painted houses that wouldn’t look out of place in Amsterdam or Den Haag
How Easy is it to get to Hato International Airport?
You’d imagine that a small island in the Caribbean would entail several flights with wasted time between them followed by a long ferry ride but, whilst you can still encounter this depending on the route you choose to Curacao, you’ll also find you can get there reasonably quickly with a direct flight from Frankfurt or Amsterdam amongst other European airports. Travel from the UK is more difficult and you’ll have to check prices to see which is the cheapest or most convenient route.
What is the Airport Like?
Curacao Airport is modern and has a host of facilities. The terminal is only a few years old and there are already plans for expanding it by a further 50%. There is a good range of shops at the airport including a duty free facility with a wide range of goods including electricals, perfumes and alcohol whilst several other shops sell fashion and gifts. You’re spoilt for choice in eating at the airport with cafes, bars and restaurants, serving anything from a la carte food to freshly made pizzas and fast food.
