How do I get to Don Mueang Airport?
If travelling form anywhere outside Asia, you won’t find any direct flights but if you want to save money and don’t mind an indirect route into the airport, connect at Hong Kong
, Kuala Lumpur
or Phuket Airports
. One of the most popular routes is for travellers to the holiday resorts of Phuket
who want to spend a couple of days in the capital. The airport is in the suburbs of the city and connected to the centre by the overhead transit system.
What is the Airport Like?
Its renaissance meant some hurried upgrade work which is still continuing. Two terminals are currently open with a third already built and waiting introduction in 2015 when it’s expected budget airlines will begin operations there. The airport seems a little dark and gloomy and quite cramped at present but after 2015 that will change. There are plenty of facilities there, remains of when the airport was Bangkok’s only international one. That means that during your time there you can shop, dine out, get money from the banks, get a massage, post letters and almost anything else you might want to do.
