The airport is well connected to Rotterdam with public transport links and also benefits from many car hire suppliers within the arrivals hall. The airport is well connected to Rotterdam Central Station and bus services from Eurolines which links Rotterdam with many cities across the Netherlands.

Rotterdam is blessed with the largest port in Europe and the famous Erasmus Bridge, positioned across The Meuse; it is a popular, modern and busy attraction that is definitely worth a visit when in the city.
Things to See Outside the City
One of Rotterdam's closest beaches is Scheveningen, around a 30 minute journey away and is by far the most popular in Netherlands. A step outside the city and you will find a long fine sandy beach with endless bars and restaurants, a busy and lively atmosphere offering a great day and evening.
Activities in the City
Water sports and yachting are very popular here, with its huge harbour and many lakes. One of the most popular places being The Kralingse Plas, a large community that creates a vibrant atmosphere for water-sports. If you're there in June, 'Hidden Gardens'
is a project that lets people open their beautiful private gardens to the public.

New restaurants are opening all the time in Rotterdam and is turning the city into a popular place to dine. Each menu surprises you with something different, with food featuring from all around the world. Popular Dutch cuisine is widely available in Rotterdam with meat and fish dishes the most popular along with local beers and lagers.
Festivals and Celebrations
In 2010, Rotterdam was ranked the Best Festival City of the World drawing attention from the thousands of residents and tourists every year, attracting people with their cultural and exciting city and events. The International Film Festival is the most popular festival which takes place annually in January, where people can discover great new films. The festival lasts 12 days, during which many film makers around the globe present their work.
– This month sees the beginning of Rotterdam’s music festival scene. Visit Rotterdam in May for an eclectic mix of music festivals ranging from Opera to musical theatre to dance.
- Until June this year the Kunsthal has an exhibition of art and other visual media called 'Sweet and Salt' documenting the importance of water to the Netherlands over the last two centuries. Works by the Old Masters will be on display as well as photography from recent times. If you want to understand more about this country that was mostly reclaimed from the sea, it's an excellent visual learning experience.
