Angola International Airport is an exciting development and is set to boost the economy and number of visitors to the area. The site is due to be completed in 2017, however it has been an on-going project for a number of years with the first phase completed in 2012.
The airport is hoping to boost the pace of economic growth to the area, through developing links with international business. The building of a large international airport is needed to develop the logistics networks in Angola.
Two runways are planned for the airport, with the total area of the airport being approximately 50 square-kilometres. This will be a modern building with planned shops, restaurants and offices, in addition to a nearby hotel; ideal for business travellers.
Money is being spent in developing the road networks in conjunction with the opening of the airport. The main existing road from the capital Luanda to Malanje has been enlarged to accommodate the increased traffic.
Car hire will be available direct from the airport, making it the ideal place to collect your car from and begin your onward journey, be it for business or pleasure. Car hire from the airport is a convenient option, with direct roads to the capital available.
