Why Should I Fly to Victoria Airport?
There are two ways of getting onto Vancouver
Island; one is to use the ferry from Seattle
or Vancouver or to fly into Victoria Airport. Whilst flying isn’t the most picturesque, it’s certainly the quickest and most convenient way. Vancouver Island is a very attractive island but surprisingly large so you’ll need a hire car once you’ve got to the airport.
Where can I fly From to get to Victoria Airport?
Flights to Victoria Airport fall into two categories; domestic flights from mainly eastern Canadian and American cities or holiday destinations such as Cancun
, Puerto Vallarta
and Los Cabos
. The majority of the flights are to and from Vancouver.
What is the Airport Like?
The terminal is beautiful, a mixture of modern glass and traditional Canadian wood and stone. Shopping is limited to two shops; a duty free and a general travel goods shop. Again there are few places to eat or drink and they mainly comprise coffee and snack bars such as Airside Café or Starbucks although the White Spot Restaurant is very good. You’ll find an ICE currency exchange outlet there, family rooms, children’s play areas and bizarrely, a bicycle repair and assembly zone!
