Customer questions about Newcastle Airport car hire

I am looking for a Toyota Avensis or similar at Newcastle Airport (UK) starting the 10th of August untill the 24th of August. When choosing the car I got 2 options. With or wihtout excess. Of course, withexcess is more expensive, which should I chose?

Hi, when hiring a car, as with any car insurance policy, in the event of a claim (damage to car) there is an excess to pay, this is typically higher than a domestic car insurance policy and as such, we offer a Full Protection insurance product to protect your rental deposit / excess which can be as much as £1,000. Hopefully this helps with your decision, but it is of course an optional policy.

How do I get There?
Scheduled flights connect Newcastle with London and also hub airports in Europe and Dubai, so most destinations are possible. Charter and budget airlines offer flights to most popular holiday resorts in Europe and North Africa, some of these routes are seasonal.

How do I get to the City?
The airport has its own metro station and every 12 minutes you can catch the metro into Newcastle or Sunderland. Journey times are 22 minutes into the city and 55 minutes to Sunderland. The X77,78 and 79 buses take you into the city via local villages. One of the easiest ways to get to the city is to drive using the A696 and A1 this would take about 15 minutes.

What’s at the Airport?
There are two hotels on-site should you require somewhere to stay nearby, the Britannia Airport Hotel and the Premier Inn. To exchange currency, there are Travelex outlets airside and landside, these also have ATMs. There is a leisure area called Game Grid, if gaming is your thing, whilst waiting for your flight. A fast track service is available through security, for a small fee, if you are pushed for time. If you have booked a Rhino hire car you will find the car hire desks on the ground floor opposite arrivals.

What if I Want to do Things in Style?
Visit Aquaria Spa in departures and treat yourself to a massage or pedicure, a perfect start to your holiday. Next head to Cheviot Lounge and relax in comfort with your complimentary refreshments and magazines or catch up on emails (pre-booking advisable). Finally, for something a little special go to Caviar House and Prunier and sample the best in seafood and caviar with your choice of Champagne or vodka.
