The Las Vegas Hilton is huge and is soaked in history. Elvis Presley lived in the penthouse suite, room 3,000 whilst performing sell out concerts here. The suite has since been converted into three ‘villas’ but there’s a small exhibition on the floor telling of the time ‘The King’ spent there.
The hotel has also hosted many of the top fights in history including the 1978 defeat of Muhammed Ali by Leon Spinks. These days though, boxing matches are a thing of the past with the hotel focusing more on its gambling income.

The Las Vegas Hilton is a good choice. As it’s off the strip, it doesn’t have the same high prices of those that cash in on their location but it is still a fabulous hotel. It has a long and complex history tied up with the finance of the city and also its entertainment and sport. Great musicians have graced the hotel such as Elvis, Barbra Streisand, Barry Manilow, Liberace and more whilst cult TV series Star Trek influenced a major science fiction space-themed exhibition.
What are the Rooms Like?
Even for the basic rooms you’ll be staggered at the quality of the décor and the space. Tastefully decorated and with many amenities such as 37” flat screen TVs and high speed internet access you have a world of entertainment even before leaving your room. If you upgrade, the rooms get bigger, more luxurious and with extras such as personal concierge, in room dining and personal shoppers for the top rooms.
What are the Options for Eating at the Hotel?
You can eat a variety of food from around the world in the big range of restaurants. Fine dining is available in four of them including the world’s largest Benihana Japanese restaurant where expert chefs cook your meal in front of you at a hibachi table. There’s also Chinese, Italian and a Steakhouse. For those on a more restricted budget there are many other restaurants offering wholesome food or light meals.
What Should I do in the Evening?
Following an after dinner walk along the nearby ‘Strip’, head back to your hotel for one of the evening shows. There‘s a performance at the Hilton theatre plus impressionists, musicians and comedians in the lounges so you’ll be spoilt for choice for a great evening.
