When planning your trip to El Paso be sure to rent your car from Car Hire El Paso Airport and you won't have to worry about having car problems on the road, as there are many things to see in this state's sixth largest city. This border town is rich in geography, nestled between two mountain ranges with the Franklin Mountains bordering the downtown area and occupying the city's center. You can take a drive down the El Paso Mission trail, which is an 8-mile stretch of Zaragosa and Socorro roads, southeast of downtown El Paso via I-10, stopping along the way to photograph the scenery or for a traditional tex-mex meal. The Franklin Mountains State Park is nearby, and although it is in the city limits many animals such as mule deer, fox and even an occasional cougar have all been spotted in the park. The park is the largest in the nation and consists of roughly 37 square miles. There are many activities for the whole family to enjoy in the park, including mountain biking, camping, and rock climbing. There are horseback riding trails as well as many miles of multi-use trails, and there is plenty of space to spread a picnic blanket and have a picnic or enjoy a game of Frisbee. In the El Paso area there are two other state park as well which include Hueco Tanks State Historical Park, which has great rock art and rock climbing, and Magoffin Home State Historical Park.
