Baltimore Airport is located 16 kilometres from Baltimore city and is frequently referred to as BWI-Marshall airport. It is a very busy airport with over 21 million people travelling through it. There is only one commercial terminal managing this large number of travellers but the terminal itself has five concourses that allow for efficient service. The airport serves as a hub for AirTran Airways and is also a focus city for Southwest Airlines. Some of the other airlines that operate flights in and out of Baltimore Airport include Continental, Delta, US Airways and British Airways. Concourses A and B are used uniquely by Southwest Airlines Concourse E is the international flights terminal and is known as William Donald Schaefer International Terminal and has flights travelling to Heathrow, Toronto, Bermuda, Cancun and Montego Bay.
Facilities at the airport are excellent and include airport lounges operated by British Airways and USO for military personnel. There are plenty of retail shops for gifts and fashion as well as restaurants and cafes available to the public. There are also banking facilities and a post office, pet relief area and ATM machines at convenient locations.
The airport has access by road through Interstate 195 and Interstate 95. People arriving by car will find a variety of rates such as hourly, daily and long term. There are 25,000 car parking spaces at the airport which cover quite a substantial area so there are shuttle buses to take passengers from the car lots to the airport main entrance.
